Good Behaviour a rainbow that colours our life: Cartoon Strips

Good Behaviour a rainbow that colours our life: Cartoon Strips

Cartoon Strips

All the sixth class pupils have been very busy working at the cartoon strips. Each pupil wrote a story, illustrated it in cartoon form, filled in speech bubbles and translated the story into Irish. The stories cover a wide range of behaviours. It began with a competition for selection of an alien character. The alien which was chosen by the children is called Oggy.
Oggy has become the lead character in a series of stories which relate her arrival on earth and eventually her participation in events in Ovens school and the surrounding areas.
We will share some of the stories with you as they are completed.
For this project , we have learned a lot about drawing and sketching cartoon figures. We hope you like our aliens.
Don't be afraid of them. They are here to learn how to behave well.

Songs on DVD

Each 6th class, Mrs. O'Callaghan's and Mrs. O'Grady's as well as Mrs. O'Rourke's Senior Infants, recorded songs for the Comenius Project DVD.
Mrs. O'Grady's class sang Óró sé do bheatha 'bhaile. Mrs. O'Callaghan's class performed "Johnny don't go to Ballincollig" and Mrs. O'Rourke's class gave a multilingual rendition of "Frere Jacques". The DVD with songs , lyrics and music have been sent to Slovenia where a compilation of all the songs will be put together. We look forward to the final work.
Johnny recorded the music on CD also and the children have enjoyed listening to the result.
